William Henry Davenport Adams (1828-1891) was a 19th Century English writer and journalist. He wrote numerous books, largely aimed at young adults, with this volume being a revised and updated version of his earlier work, Alpine Adventure (1878). He also published Mountains and Mountain Climbing in 1883.
