The second volume of autobiography from Croucher, who lost both of his legs below the knee in an accident at the age of nineteen, but went on to lead climbs and expeditions in the Alps (including Mont Blanc and the Eiger), Peru, Argentina, Kashmir and China, having determined to get fit by walking the 900 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats. He was awarded an OBE in 1977 for his voluntary work for the disabled community.
