Account of the French Expedition to Nun Kun in 1953, which successfully made the first ascent of Nun, at 23,410 feet the higher of the two peaks Nun and Kun. This expedition, organised and led by the author, put Pierre Vittoz, a Moravian missionary to the Tibetans and experienced alpinist, and Claude Kogan, a pioneering female mountaineer, on the summit, despite difficult conditions on the ascent. Claude Kogan achieved a new women’s height record with this ascent.
