Classic volume of reminiscences and instruction by one of the most influential Scottish climbers from the 1920s through to World War II. Bell produced many new routes in Scotland, including the Long Climb on the Orion Face of Ben Nevis. The latter part of the book covers his ‘Alpine Expeditions’. A role model for the younger W.H. Murray, Bell also edited the SMC journal for 24 years from 1936 to 1959.
