Published by Herbert Jenkins, London, 1961, 1st UK Edition, D/w, V.G..    Story of the Parachute Brigade Alaska Expedition by the leader of the Expedition and their explorations and climbs in Alaska in 1957 in the area around Mount McKinley, specifically to explore the Traleika Glacier system, attempt unclimbed peaks around it and carry out scientific research.  They made successful first ascents of Mount Tatum, a peak that they named Mount Staghorn, and one that they named Pegasus Peak (in honour of the emblem of British airborne forces), and also got to within 200 feet of the summit on a peak they called Anniversary Peak.  The book “tells of the excitement and boredom, of dangers, discomforts and fatigue….how men react when nerves are frayed beyond endurance and and tempers are ready to snap”.
