British Mount Everest Medical Expedition 1994 Brochure

The brochure consists of 26 pages, A4 format and ring-bound with a plastic sheet over the front cover, Fine.   The front cover is Signed by Doug Scott and the Foreword, written by Chris Bonington, is also Signed by him.  The brochure is a promotional publication aimed at commercial sponsorship, combined with an outline of the proposed altitude related medical research and profiles of the key medical and mountaineering members of the team.  Though no commercial sponsorship was forthcoming, the team was eventually over 75 strong, mostly doctors and scientists.  While the key objectives were research, the expedition put Charlie Hornsby and Roddy Kirkwood (with Sherpas Dorje and Dawa Temba) on the summit.  Team member Alison Hargreaves had to abandon her oxygenless attempt at c. 8,400m due to high winds and the risk of frostbite.
