Published by Silent Books, Cambridge UK, 1990, Enlarged 3rd Edition, D/w, Fine. Two of the best of the early climbers in the Lake District were George and Ashley Abraham, ‘The Keswick Brothers’ – they started climbing in the early 1890s, teamed up with the leading ‘tiger’ of the day, Owen Glynne Jones, and rarely went out without their camera and a dozen glass-plate negatives. They climbed and photographed in the Lake District, North Wales and Scotland, and this volume provides both a history of the brothers and their photography, and a superb collection of around 100 of the best of the brothers’ photographs from the UK and, for this enlarged edition,a further 40 photographs taken in the European Alps and the Dolomites.
