Published by Castle Cary Press, Somerset, 1982, 1st UK Edition, D/w, Fine.    George Sansom (1888-1980) has produced a little gem of a book which combines his  climbing diaries, including the first ascent of Central Buttress on Scafell, overcoming the Great Flake in the process, with Siegfried Herford and C.F. Holland, with a general introductory article he wrote about the Edwardian Wasdale climbing scene.  With 9 drawings and a map by Alfred Wainwright, plus 12 contemporary black-and-white photographs.  Privately published, 1000 copies only, as a memorial to George S. Sansom on 14th September 1982, the 70th Anniversary of the Pioneer Girdle Traverse of Scafell.
