Autobiography of Reggie Cooke who, amongst other achievements in the war and thereafter in Indian telecommunications, was a founder member of the Mountain Club of India which devolved into the Himalayan Club, of which he became Vice-President. He climbed in Kashmir and Sikkim and made the first ascent of Mt. Kabru (7,338 metres) in 1935, without oxygen, after his Swiss companion Gustav Schoberth succumbed to altitude sickness at their highest camp. It remained the highest solo climb until 1953.
