Published by Eyre Methuen, London, 1981, 1st UK Edition, D/w, Fine.    Joe Tasker (1948-1982) provides a personal account of the 1980-81 British Winter Expedition to Everest, led by Al Rouse, which attempted the notorious West Ridge.  The very strong team, consisting of Rouse, Tasker, John Porter, Brian Hall, Pete Thexton, Paul Nunn, and Al and Aid Burgess, reached over 24,000 feet, but was ultimately unsuccessful due to bad weather.  Joe Tasker’s first book.
