Published by The Climbers Club, 1985, 1st UK Edition, D/w, Fine.  Signed by the author on the title-page.  The history of Helyg, the Climbers’ Club cottage in the Ogwen valley, near Capel Curig in North Wales, which opened in 1925.  Published in the year of Helyg’s Diamond Jubilee, this volume not only commemorates the opening of Helyg, but also documents how, for over twenty years after its opening, the leading rock climbers of the day explored the cliffs of North Wales using Helyg as a base. The book includes the writings of such pioneers as Pigott, Longland, Waller, Kirkus and Edwards, illustrated by an excellent selection of contemporary photographs.
