Galen Rowell (1940-2002) was an accomplished American mountaineer, wilderness photographer, author and adventure photojournalist, who was tragically killed, along with his wife, in a plane crash in California in 2002. Large format volume of excellent colour photography which illustrates thirteen of Rowell’s adventures and ascents over the years in a wide variety of mountain and climbing settings across North America, from Alaska and Mount McKinley to Yosemite and the sandstone of the Southwest.
