Japan’s leading photographer, Yoshikazu Shirakawa, spent four adventure-packed years photographing the Himalayas to produce this volume, for which he is best known in mountaineering circles. The book is divided into two sections, the first covering the Nepal and Punjab Himalayas, and the second the Sikkim Himalayas and Hindu Kush range, with descriptive notes at the end of each section. There are 71 stunning full-page illustrations in colour, 8 full-page in black-and-white and 6 maps. Excellent and accessible edition of the original ‘tour de force’ published in 1971.
