Published by Cicerone Press, Cumbria, 1985, 1st Edition, D/w, Fine.   The autobiography of William Peascod (1920-1985) who was, along with his climbing partner Bert Beck, one of the most influential pre-war pioneer Lakeland rock climbers of the 1940s before moving to Australia in 1952 and becoming well-known as an artist.  He returned to the Lake District in 1980 and continued to climb, including re-climbing one of his first ascents, Eagle Front in Buttermere, with Chris Bonington in 1985 for a TV documentary.  He died in 1985 from a heart attack while climbing Great Slab on Clogwyn Du’r Arddu in North Wales with Don Whillans.
