Published by George G Harrap, London, 1955, 1st UK Edition, foxing edges, D/w (worn, with small pieces missing top of spine, bottom of spine and in the middle of spine), D/w: Good, Book: V.G.   John Jackson (1921-2005) includes in this, his first book, his Himalayan reminiscences of early climbing at the RAF Mountain Training Centre in Kashmir, his explorations in the Nilkhanta region of Garhwal, Yeti hunting on the 1954 Daily Mail Abominable Snowman Expedition, and reconnaissance for Kanchenjunga.  He was later a member of the successful Kangchenjunga expedition in 1955, Director of Play y Brenin the National Mountaineering Centre in North Wales, joined John Hunt expeditions to Greenland and Greece, climbed  on Kenya and Kilimanjaro, and returned to the Himalayas where he was still climbing and trekking into his 80’s.
