It came from Chinese border guards firing at Tibetans fleeing through Nepal to India – the outcome was the death of a 17 year-old nun, witnessed by dozens of western climbers. Green’s steely analysis of events, both at the time and leading up to the shooting, sheds much light on a perennial human rights crisis.
