This is the account of Captain Bailey and Captain Morshead, who set out in 1913 to discover if the River Tsangpo in Tibet and the Brahmaputra in India concealed in its descent to the plains of Assam a waterfall as high and splendid as Niagara. This classic journey of Tibetan exploration led to Bailey, the discoverer of the Blue Poppy, being awarded the Royal Geographical Society’s Gold Medal.
