The 3 members of the expedition, Anne Davies, Eve Sims and the author, drove 16,000 miles to India and back, trekked 300 miles through the Himalayas to Eastern Zanskar, crossing 5 high passes and making the first ascent of Biwi Giri, while studying the lives of local women released from purdah.
