Published by the Appalachian Mountain Club, Boston USA, 1982, 1st Edition, D/w (a little wear edges, one small tear), Nr. Fine. Henry Barber is an American rock climber and ice climber who rose to prominence in the 1970s. Known by the nickname “Hot Henry”, Barber was an advocate of clean climbing, a prolific first ascensionist and a free soloist. He was one of the first American climbers to travel widely to different countries and one of the first “professional” American climbers, making a living as a sales rep for the likes of Chouinard Equipment and Patagonia, as well as lecturing. He was also one of the members of the so-called “Front Four” quartet of the 1970s, the others being John Stannard, Steve Wunsch and John Bragg.
