Abraham (“Dad”)’.  It also includes a postcard of Wastwater and Great Gable which appears to be in the hand of Ashley Abraham.

Ashley Abraham (1876-1951) was a climber, author and photographer who produced the final volume of the classic Jones-Abraham trilogy to be published, following on from Rock-Climbing in the English Lake District (1897) by Owen Glynne Jones (1867-1899) and Rock-Climbing in North Wales (1906) by Ashley’s older brother George D Abraham (1872-1965).  The Abraham brothers and O.G. Jones did much to develop and popularise rock-climbing in the Lake District, North Wales and other parts of the British Isles.   With 30 full-page, tissue-guarded illustrations in collotype, nine diagrams of the chief routes and map in the pocket of the rear board.
