Published by Mountain Imagery, Colorado, 2011, 2nd US Edition (the 1st was in 2000), D/w, Fine. This volume is signed on the title page by the author, but is also inscribed on the front endpaper “December 1st 2011 – With Very Best Wishes, from the Author, Sincerely, EdWebster.” Ed Webster is a well known American climber, author, photographer and lecturer. This is his long awaited account of his obsession with climbing Everest and of his three Everest expeditions. His attempts were on the West Ridge Direct in 1985, a further attempt in 1986 when he made a solo ascent of Changtse, and the 1988 Kangshung Face Expedition he undertook with Robert Anderson, Paul Teare and Stephen Venables which resulted in a new route on the notorious Face and Venables successfully soloing from the South Col to the summit. Very well illustrated with 152 pages of colour photographs, 280 black-and-white photographs, plus maps and photo-diagrams, and a substantial bibliography.
