The final 8,000 metre peak to be climbed in 1960 by this Swiss Expedition of 13 climbers. The account is by the leader, Max Eiselin, who put 6 climbers on the summit, including Kurt Diemberger (one of only 2 climbers to have made the first ascent of two 8,000 metre peaks, the other being Hermann Buhl). This expedition followed 7 previously unsuccessful expeditions through the 1950’s.
