Charles Alexander Sheldon (1867-1928) was an American conservationist and known as the “Father of Denali National Park”, where Mount Sheldon is named after him, along with the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge in Nevada. Sheldon also wrote two further volumes The Wilderness of the North Pacific Coast Islands (1912) and The Wilderness of Denali (1930).
