The authors were able to draw on an extensive collection of Mallory’s letters, many previously unpublished, and the help of surviving family members.  The title comes from “The Wildest Dream”, which was Mallory’s description of a possible first ascent of Everest.  Winner of the Boardman Tasker Award for 2000.
