Published by Vertebrate Publishing, Sheffield, 2011, 1st UK Edition, D/w, Fine. Signed by the author on the title page. Story of the British team from the Rimmon Mountaineering Club team that made the second ascent of the Troll Wall in Norway in 1965, only one day after the first ascent by a Norwegian team. However, the British team had made the first ascent of what became the most popular route, the Rimmon (or British) Route, on this very impressive 3,600 foot vertical and overhanging wall (the highest in Europe). Following major rockfall in 1998, the route has not been repeated since. Though Tony Howard, John Amatt and Bill Tweedale established the route in 1965 and Tony Howard wrote this book in the days immediately after the climb, it was then put to one side as other projects took over, rediscovered only in 2010, and then published some 45 years after the ascent (with Tony adding an introduction for context, a short section on his Arctic and Antarctic adventures, and a postscript). The writing has all the freshness, immediacy and enthusiasm of youth.
