Description

Published by Gwasg Carreg Gwalch, 2015, 1st Edition Softback, Fine.   Dedication by author.   Autobiography of Eric Jones, solo rock climber, skydiver and BASE jumper.  Jones is probably best known for making the first British solo ascent of the north face of the Eiger in 1981, going back in 1986 to become the first person to BASE jump from the Eiger.  Jones, with Leo Dickinson, Pete Minks and Cliff Phillips had previously climbed the North Face of the Eiger in 1970 while making the first complete film of an ascent.  He climbed, skydived and adventured widely from the Alps to the Himalaya, Patagonia and the North Pole, though, when not away on some hair-raising adventure, was also well known to generations of rock climbers for running Eric Jones’ Cafe and campsite at Tremadoc in North Wales.
