This classic book covers the three French expeditions i.e. the reconnaissance in 1957 (led by Guido Magnone), the first attempt in 1959 (led by Jean Franco) and the successful first ascent in 1962 (led by Lionel Terray).  Those reaching the summit included Robert Paragot and René Desmaison, with Terray himself being in the second ascent party a day later.
