Description
Published by Nicholas Vane, London, 1965, 1st UK Edition, D/w (some sellotape marks and top and bottom edges, wear and small pieces missing), D/w: Good, Book: V.G. This book gives a vivid impression of some of the great routes in the Mont Blanc massif, including reproducing Rebuffat’s first ascent of the South Face of the Aiguille du Midi with Baquet, his Grande Traverse of Mont Blanc with Tazieff and the Bonatti routes on the Drus with Mollier and Cretton. This book comes from the film Entre Terre et Ciel which won the Grand Prix of the Italian Alpine Club at the Trento Film Festival in 1961. The photography by the renowned Pierre Tairraz (8 pages of plates in colour and 104 in monochrome) is outstanding.
