Bell and Sons, London, 1935, 1st Edition, spine faded, small marks near top of spine and edges, V.G.   The author of this classic work, Dorothy Pilley Richards (1894-1986), was a leading British climber between the wars, especially in the 1920s, climbing extensively in the Alps, Britain and North America.  The book covers her pioneering exploits over a twenty year period, including her celebrated first ascent of the north north west ridge of the Dent Blanche, described as “one of the last great problems” of the Pennine Alps, with her husband I.A. Richards and the guides Joseph and Antoine Georges on 20th July 1928.  She was a member of the Fell & Rock Climbing Club and a co-founder of the Pinnacle Club.
