Published by Victor Gollancz Ltd, London, 1963, 1st UK Edition, D/w (5 cm by 4 cm piece missing at top of spine, damage to front of D/w – see photo, wear at edges), spine faded where D/w missing, ownership name inked out, Good.   Autobiography of leading French climber, skier and guide Lionel Terray (1921-1965), who completed first or significant ascents of Makalu, Fitzroy, Annapurna, Jannu, Eiger, Huntington and McKinley amongst others.  He made the second ascent of the Eiger North Face in 1947 with Louis Lachenal, took part in the successful French expedition which made the First Ascent of Annapurna in 1950, and went on to further expeditions in the Himalayas and Andes. A classic twentieth century autobiography of one of the greats.
