Published by Guild Publishing, London, 1984, UK Book Club Edition, D/w, Fine.    Alfred Wainwright (or A.W., 1907-1991) was a British fellwalker, prolific guidebook author and illustrator, whose seven-volume Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells published between 1955 and 1966, consisting entirely of reproductions of his manuscript, became the standard reference work to 214 of the English Lake District fells.  This volume is a well illustrated coffee table volume featuring detailed descriptions of eighteen of the author’s favourite walks in Lakeland.
