Published by Arthaud, Paris, 1978, 1st Edition, French Language, D/w (worn edges, especially top edge), V.G.   Samivel (1907-1992), real name Paul Gayet-Tancrède, was a versatile French writer, illustrator, mountaineer, and cinematographer.  Renowned for his whimsical mountain drawings, he used his art and writings to promote alpine conservation, being instrumental in establishing the Vanoise National Park.  Well illustrated in colour and black-and-white.
