Published by Edward Arnold, London, 1910, 1st UK Edition, original cloth recased and with new endpapers, RSM on title page noting that the volume is “Not to be Sold”(!), Nr.Fine.   The author, a British alpinist and member of the Alpine Club, climbed extensively in the French and Swiss Alps and did much to popularise and promote Arolla as a climbing centre, including authoring the 1908 guide to the area.  These memoirs cover 26 seasons climbing and wandering, mainly in the latter part of the nineteenth century.
