Published by J.M. Dent, London, 1986, 1st UK Edition, D/w, Fine. Keith Shackleton (1923-2015) was a British painter, naturalist, explorer, author and broadcaster. For 20 years, the MS Lindblad Explorer carried enthusiasts, artists and naturalists into Antarctica, the Atlantic Arctic and the South Pacific. Among those passengers were the author (a distant relative of Ernest Shackleton of Antarctic fame), Jim Snyder and Sir Peter Scott. Adorned with 50 of Keith Shackleton’s original water colours and more than 150 of Snyder’s excellent colour photographs, this is an unusual book about the ocean voyages of the MS Lindblad Explorer and its visits to some of the world’s most inaccessible and beautiful places.
