This is Rowell’s first book, also the first major book on climbing in Yosemite and features many photos, mainly black-and-white, of first ascents of classic Yosemite climbs. There are seventeen chapters, each written by prominent first ascensionists and introduced by Rowell to provide context. Authors include Allen Steck, Warren Harding, Royal Robbins, Yvon Chouinard, Chuck Pratt and Rowell himself.
