This volume tells his story of skippering his yacht Eshamy through the North West Passage across the top of Canada and Alaska, and the North East Passage skirting Norway and Russia. He was accompanied for most of the voyages by his sole crew member Katherine Brownlie. Over 5 months, they sailed 10,300 miles, dodging icebergs, sea ice and Russian officials.
