Published by Pic Publications, Glossop, 1986, 1st UK Edition, No D/w (not issued), Fine.   One of a Special Edition of 500 copies produced to mark the partnership of Joe Brown and Don Whillans, signed by both authors.  This history is about the climbers of each generation, as selected by the authors, and allowing them to bring to life the events of the 100 year period to the mid-1980s, rather then being a balanced and analytical history. As such, the remarkable climbers of each era take centre stage as development moves from the mountain cliffs to sea cliffs and limestone outcrops and then to the slate quarries.  Very well illustrated with copious full colour and black-and-white contemporary photographs.
